A graduate of Lincoln University with a post graduate diploma in Viticulture and Oenology, John was born and raised in Waiuku, south of Auckland. After his studies, John moved to Martinborough to follow his passion for Pinot Noir, and became the chief winemaker at Te Kairanga in 2012.
Viticulturist / Vineyard Manager
Dave, born and raised in Blenheim, joined the team at Te Kairanga as the viticulturist in 2013. He served in similar roles at Escarpment, Craggy Range and Dog Point. Dave focuses on the seasonal variations within the vineyards.
Cellar Hand / Vineyard Worker
Before Mark found his passion in the wine industry, he was a professional cyclist who rode for a number of international teams. As the cellar hand at Te Kairanga, Mark is charged with ensuring the winery is operating at tip-top shape.
Assistant Vineyard Manager
Lorraine brings over 25 years of experience to her role as assistant vineyard manager. Besides showing the new employees the ropes, Lorraine oversees all work crews and vineyard projects.
Cellar Door Manager
Ariel studied a Bachelor of Tourism Management at Victoria University in Wellington and comes to us from Wharekauhau Country Estate. Ariel manages the Martinborough Vineyard cellar door and also organises winery events.
